As a matter of policy, we aim to give all students the opportunity to have the benefits of a Jewish education. However, not all families are in a position to afford these benefits without significant financial assistance. These include are many migrant families who require both financial and settling-assistance when they arrive.
Additionally our commitment to providing the very best of facilities, programs and staff is costly when spread across our school population At the same time it is our responsibility to maintain the highest standard in our curriculum offering.

As with other non-government schools Massada receives assistance from both Federal and State Governments. A proportion of these funds are provided specifically for recurrent expenditure. Other funds are targeted towards particular areas such as literacy, numeracy and specific projects in areas of the curriculum. There is also some assistance for the integration of new arrivals into Australia, with a special emphasis on language.
These funds are of great assistance to Massada but there are particular aspects of our programs and there are particular criteria in determining the level of the recurrent grants, which do not recognise the unique nature of Jewish Day Schools. This means that our funding from governments is never enough.

Tuition Fees charged by the college to each student fill the gap between the daily operational costs and government assistance. Yet this does not cover the larger expenses of the building fund, upkeep, new equipment such as musical instruments and other such additions.
For some year levels, it also does not cover the balance of the concessions provided to lower income families. Thus we are running at a loss in some classes. The structure of concessions is currently under review and will likely undergo fundamental changes over the coming months to allow for better qualification of concession recipients.

We have taken a fresh approach to the financial support of Massada
College by embarking on the Strategic Fundraising Campaign 2007/2008
To date we have raised a considerable contribution to the dissolution of debts of Massada College and ensuring its daily operation.
Some of our generous benefactors include:
Victor Smorgon Charitable Fund (Melbourne), Bori & Helen Liberman Family (Melbourne), Gandel Charitable Trust (Melbourne) and Garry & Klee Benveniste (Adelaide).
Additional valuable contributors are: The Scheinberg Family (Sydney), John and Stanley Roth (Sydney), Mrs Pearle Saragossi (Brisbane), and The Reuben Pelerman Benevolent Foundation (Brisbane).
Our gratitude also encompasses additional benefactors who will remain anonymous as they prefer.
Thank you! You have directly helped the children of our community to keep their school.
